Born and raised in Torrance, California, physical fitness has always been an important part of Brett’s life. He played
Division I college soccer at SDSU, as well as baseball and hockey growing up. Brett is also a 1st Degree Black Belt in Brazilian
Jiu-Jitsu and has numerous years of boxing training.
A tall and skinny kid most his life, Brett’s college soccer coaches advised him in high school to gain about 15 lbs. of
muscle for the freshman soccer season. He worked with a personal trainer and never looked back. Putting on close to
20 lbs., Brett learned how to build muscle as well as increase speed, power, and agility; maintaining a healthy lifestyle
with proper nutrition and weight-lifting throughout college.
While studying finance at SDSU, he began working at 24 Hour Fitness as a Personal Trainer and found his true
passion. After 3 years, he decided it was time to branch out and start his own personal training business. South Bay
Fitness Focus was founded in January of 2011 and opened its first facility in September of 2013.
